What can we expect from Blas? Street Food returns to Roath

Blas street food heads back to the Mack
Where: Mackintosh Sports & Social Club, Keppoch St, CF24 3JW
When: Saturday 30 April from 4:30

Blas street food returns this Saturday (30 April) as part of the Made in Spring festival, bringing Roath and Riverside market favourites and some of south Wales best pop-ups to the Mack.

As well as amazing local food, the Mack bar will be serving real ales, including a selection from Vale micro Tomos a Lilford and there’s Live music from singer/songwriter (and popular city centre busker) Kirk Morgan

They’ll have lots of outside tables and seating – and plenty of shelter in case we get another random snow shower!

So who’s coming and what’s on the menu?

Dusty Knuckle

Bringing their own wood fired pizza oven and creative combinations of local ingredients. And the Sunday Times listed them in the top 25 pizza restaurants in the UK last month!

Don’t miss: Blas y Mor – Charcutier lardons, Penclawdd cockles, laverbread and samphire

Babita’s Spice Deli

Bringing homemade Indian street food, all locally sourced and made with freshly blended spices

Don’t miss: Chickpea curry and samosas

Mr Croquewich

Cardiff’s king of grilled cheese and a Blas favourite – always look forward to seeing the specials board.

Don’t miss: The Glamorgan – Welsh cheese and leeks in a creamy bechemel sauce

The Spaniard Gourmet

Cardiff’s Spanish deli offering authentic oils, olives, Iberico ham and chorizo and amazing pop-up Paellas

Dont miss: Chicken and chorizo Paella

Bwydiful

You’ve probably spotted them down the DEPOT – artisan steak burgers, hand-made to order in local sourdough rolls.

Don’t miss: The Greek, with grilled halloumi and pesto

Artisan Crepes

Established in Cornwall but now a Riverside favourite – crepes made fresh to order with locally sourced ingredients

Dont’ miss: The Pirate with banana rum and raisin

Cup and Cake bakery

Home of the Cardiff Kronut along with amazing cupcakes, Whoopie Pies and Brownies, all with local organic ingredients

Don’t miss: Salted caramel cupcake (and a Kronut obvs)

Coffee am Byth

A favourite of the St Mary Street market – locally roasted, expertly brewed coffee and local pioneers of the suspended coffee.

Don’t miss: Try their vegan oat milk flat white

Field Bar Wine

Another Roath market fave – check out their award-winning fruit wines and spirits.

Don’t miss: Earl Grey Gin – a G&Tea!

Not everyone’s confirmed menus so we’ve based our ‘don’t miss’ on things we’ve tried at past events or the great things they’ve posted about online recently. Keep an eye on their facebook/twitter feeds for latest info.

It’s always a fantastic afternoon and evening and we’ll all be there – what are you looking forward to trying first?
