Thanks to Deborah de Lloyd for this guest post.
Hi, I’m Deborah de Lloyd, I am a very experienced seamstress and dressmaker of 20 years living in Roath not far from Albany Road. I have worked in film, theatre and TV, as well as undertaking individual commissions. Currently I have a company called ‘Cwtch Club’ and I’m a also a partner in Zap Upcycled.
‘Cwtch Club’ makes bespoke, commissioned ‘softies’ from children’s (and adults’) artwork. So far I have made around 17 softies and it is a delight to see the pictures come to life and even more satisfying to get the pictures of the happy designers with their bespoke ‘softies’ after successful delivery.
For Made in Roath this year I will be holding a workshop on Saturday 18th October for children aged 7-12. It will take place at Penylan Library from 10.00am until 2.30pm. Children will learn to make a basic soft toy and take it away with them. Get there early as numbers will be limited. Parents should be warned that needles and scissors will be used, carefully. To book a place please contact me on email.
