Who are you and what’s your job?
Kev Foley, Owner and Body Transformation Expert at Boxfit Personal Training.
What’s the ethos behind your business? What services/products do you offer and what makes you unique?
At Boxfit Personal Training our mission is to “Inspire clients to a happier and healthier lifestyle through the education of effective fitness and nutrition, making it a part of every day life.”
We use a combination of boxing, kettlebell and bodyweight exercises alongside a personalised nutrition plan to guarantee results. We are committed to consistently delivering results and believe that success starts with taking personal responsibility for your actions and results. We go beyond client expectation and consistently strive to improve.
We offer VIP One on One Training which is best suited for those who require that little bit of extra attention and expect the personal touch when it comes to their health and fitness.
Small Group Personal Training which involves the same style of coaching and high quality service that we do with our VIP clients at a fraction of the cost. You will work out with 2-3 other people.
Large Group Training where clients come in and train as a group of up to 20 people.
Many gym goers fail to get the results they are looking for because they join a gym with no plan or structure, they set vague goals, don’t address nutrition and are not re-assessed or held accountable for their results. They may go to classes on a regular basis, but they never actually look back on where they have succeeded and what challenges lie ahead.
What makes Boxfit unique and how we differ to a traditional gym, is the fact that we take the time to look deep into our clients mindset, lifestyle and nutritional needs. Plus all of our clients, including the large group programme, are held accountable and re-assessed on a monthly basis. This ensures they are achieving their goals and making the lifestyle changes necessary to sustain them, helping the to stay fit and healthy.
Why did you choose to open your business in Roath?
We searched all over Cardiff for the perfect location and facility for our new Boxfit training facility, a process that took months. When we visited St. Peter’s Rugby Club on Minister Road in Roath, we instantly knew it was the one. The space was exactly what we were looking for to accommodate our growing Boxfit community, plus we couldn’t have been happier with the location. Roath has a thriving local community, one which has been incredibly supportive since we opened.
What response have you had from customers?
We have had an excellent response from customers since opening our brand new training facility in March. After the success of previous Fatblast Programs, where we had 45 people lose a combined weight of 407 lbs (29 STONE!) we had to put on extra classes to accommodate the increase in demand! There is now a fantastic buzz and increased energy between all our members. This energy has helped our members really push themselves and we’ve seen some unbelievable results from our members.
Do you have any plans for this year that you’d like to share?
On Thursday 15th May 2014 we are holding an evening for Cardiff residents to come and learn what makes Boxfit different from any other gym out there, to see what our community is all about and to raise money for the Stroke Association.
The event starts at 7.30 pm and there will be a few drinks and nibbles and the chance to win some fabulous prizes in our raffle donated by businesses in the local community.
