Cardiff Vegetarian Festival – now we are six

Cardiff Vegetarian Festival is now six years old. That’s six years of bringing great food to spring time Roath, six years of live music and bouncing DJs in the 18th century Mackintosh Hall, and six years of celebrating local vegetarian traders from Roath, Cardiff and beyond. We are pleased to be back!

Vegetarian and vegan life styles have had a raised profile around Roath in that time frame, with Cafe Atma opening, Milgi going veggie, and the ongoing strength of veggie caterers at Roath market, so it is worth celebrating and worth celebrating here.

So on Saturday 17th May Mackintosh Hall will be throwing open its doors again to the tastes and smells of veg*n Cardiff today. We’re very pleased with our caterer line up. The Parsnipship will be running the upper garden bringing their market magic to the festival; Roath Community Garden will be in the lower garden with an all vegan BBQ; Vegetarian Food Studio  are serving award winning curry and pakoras; Simply V deliver their fantastic vegan cakes; and we début the Pop Cycle tricycle serving snacks and delights for all. TeenVGN, a group for veg*ns aged 12-19 will also be at the event.

And let us not forget the music – DJs and live performances, all topped of with jig-tastic, foot-stomping festival folk from The Brwmys. Very pleasing.

This is a volunteer run event, so we are always impressed with the support from the community and the happy energy around the place as a spring afternoon drifts into evening, and Roath stomachs digest meat-free treats with a smile on the face. I hope you will all make it along this year!
