Could you tell us about the ActiveVibe story – what inspired you to start it up?
“After working out on the PowerPlate myself I was amazed in how my body felt after such a short period of time compared to other forms of exercise. Furthermore, the workout appealed to my hectic and busy lifestyle as it was only 25 minutes, so I could easily fit in exercise around my forever changing agenda. Based on my personal experience, I saw the potential to provide this service in my local area with my main objective being to help the community get fit and healthy.” Chrissie, Director.
ActiveVibe is the largest PowerPlate Studio in the UK. We run 25 minute instructor led PowerPlate sessions 6 days a week which are equivalent to over an hour in the gym. Our machines are also medically certified, supporting those with Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s and arthritis for example.
We established in Caerphilly over 3 years ago and have become the largest PowerPlate studio in the UK. Due to the success we achieved in Caerphilly we found ourselves needing to expand. Firstly we sourced a larger premises in the Caerphilly area to accommodate demand. Further on from that we set ourselves a larger business growth challenge and decided to open up a second studio in Cardiff.
What’s the ethos behind ActiveVibe? Is there a particular service/services you aim to offer, and what makes your business unique?
ActiveVibe is all about supporting people in transforming their lives into more of a healthy nature. Our passion surrounds working with individuals to better their quality of life and enhance their well-being. The team get to know members on an individual basis and together, we work hard towards achieving the personal goals of members. We also love any opportunity in getting involved with and supporting the local community and often run various charity campaigns to raise funds for numerous charities.
Our services cater for everyone, from people recovering from an illness or injury, people who have never exercised before, to people who work out every day. Our service is premised on serving you as an individual.
Why did you choose to open your business in Roath?
We were attracted to the Roath area based on the fact we are community driven and we felt that the community of Roath could definitely benefit from a service like ours due to its busy atmosphere and hectic working lifestyles.
What sort of response have you had from customers so far?
Our biggest task since day one is changing the perception of our services. We aren’t ‘wobble machines’ that you just stand on, we run high quality, personal instructor led classes and offer a wide range of medical services. So many of our new customers here in Cardiff are continually giving us positive feedback surrounding the fact that they cannot believe the effect of our PowerPlate service and the benefits it has had on their lives in such a short period of time.
Customers tell us that they lead such busy lives that they previously found it hard to commit to exercise. Having joined us, they are overwhelmed by how much they work out in just 25 minutes.
Do you have any 2014 plans you can share with us?
Our mission is to continue trying to combat the current perception of PowerPlates and emphasise the numerous life benefits that our services offer. We hope to get involved with the community in any way possible, improve the lives of so many and keep on delivering high quality personal trainer led classes.
This month we released our Mother’s Day promotion of offering 5 classes for £20.00 - that’s saving of £25.00.
