This Saturday, 14 December, sees the launch in Roath of a new venture by Purple Tree, an organisation aimed at staging and producing exciting and innovative cultural activities.
The debut gig at the Gate Arts centre will feature performances by renowned Welsh artists and singer songwriters – performing original songs and their own take on Christmas classics.
The night will be hosted by popular ITV presenter Matt Johnson and promises to be a night filled with music, mulled wine and lots of festive cheer, with the proceeds going towards Mind UK. The line-up includes such talents as Greta Isaac, Gildas, Gruff Sion Rees, Androo Gwynn, The People The Poet and Caryl Parry Jones – familiar faces in Wales’ live music scene. There will also be an open mic on the night so that anyone and everyone can get involved!
In addition to organising live music events, the Purple Tree team is keen to venture in to all sorts of creative avenues.
You can support the first Purple Tree project at the Café Bar, The Gate Arts Centre, Roath on Saturday the 14 December from 19.00. For information on all future events including secret/pop up gigs, open mic nights, music and film events across the UK follow @PurpleTreeOrg #PurpleTree
