Wales Blog Awards Winner 2014

Vote for Roath Cardiff: TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards

TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards

We’re very excited to have been shortlisted as a Wales regional finalist in the TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards 2013. The awards are for using technology in and for the community, and we’d be very grateful if you would vote for us.

Winning the regional award would mean a prize of £5000, which would secure the blog and all our community activities for some years to come.

We don’t have many expenses, but at the moment RoathCardiff and our activities are all self-funded between the four of us, and if we won we could pay for all our running costs, give the blog an overhaul to improve usability, expand our Social Media Surgery activities, develop Trade in Roath, and pay for printed publicity (posters and flyers) to be able to engage with people not currently online.

Hopefully you already know about what we do, how we support the community in terms of news, guest posts, local business, charity events, publicity for events such as Made in Roath, The Great Roath Bake Off, RoathRocks, and new community venture Cynefin Cardiff.

We do our best to publicise local consultations and issues as well, and encourage residents and businesses to get involved via the RoathPeople feature and Roath Indie Business section.
