Summer Craft Day at Mackintosh Church

At Mackintosh Church, here in Roath, we hold family craft days four or five times a year where anyone can come along, have some fun making different crafts, painting and generally having a good time!  There are plenty of home made cakes for the adults too!

The craft days are part of our Church being part of the community and also to raise money for a local charity – for the Summer Craft Fair it’s Bobath Wales.

We chose Bobath Wales because one of the girls who attends our youth club (MYspace) has cerebral palsy, and she is always telling us about how wonderful they are.

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales provides specialist physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy to children all over Wales who have cerebral palsy.

We have a youth club each week, MYspace youth club (Mack Youth space), mainly attended by children from Roath Park and Albany Road Junior Schools.

To design the flyer for this summer’s Craft Day the children all drew one, they were voted on by 80 Church members and the top six have been turned into flyers and posters which are now everywhere we can put them!

The Craft Day is open to anyone – admission is free, the crafts are free, and we just ask for a donation for the coffee and cakes to raise funds for the charity.
