The festival spirit in Roath is alive and well, as we Roathians know, and the next big thing coming up is :ROATH:ROCKS: – a two day music festival organised by local resident and impresario of the event, Wayne Courtney.
:ROATH:ROCKS: promises to be a fantastic weekend of live music by local singers and bands at The Gower Pub, with all the proceeds going to local charities.
The festival starts at 6pm on Friday 4th May, with acts to include Hullabaloo, The Fflip Fflops and Calum Ross & The Scarlets. Other highlights of the evening are Hobo Bogweed and comic duo The Chicago Boys.
On Saturday 5th, join :ROATH:ROCKS: again from 2pm, for a barbecue in the pub garden (we hope the weather has improved by then!) and acoustic sets from artists Krystal Mills and Peppered Moths. Roath-based Calum Ross will be performing a solo set, and singer Donna Armstrong will also be entertaining the audience.
Other as yet unannounced bands will also be performing – keep up to date with what’s happening at :ROATH:ROCKS: by following Wayne on twitter, visiting his blog, and checking out their facebook event page.
See you there!
