Roath People: Lisa Derrick

I’ve inadvertently made a rule to live only in Cardiff suburbs beginning with the letter ‘R’.  Roath has been home for six months, and I’m very happy to reside here.

For me, its magic is in the leafiness, the tucked away tiny parks as well as the famous swan-filled one, all of which I’ve spent lazy days reading in, and not so lazy days running through.  I love calorie replenishment in Roath’s pubs, cafes and restaurants, and there are so many I’ve yet to test the chocolate cake and wine in them all!

I’m originally from Hirwaun in the South Wales Valleys.  I work as a community arts coordinator and study part time at UWIC. If I had one magic wish to spend on Roath, I’d go for more music venues – so if you see a genie, send him my way.
