We are so lucky to have the Made in Roath Arts Festival right here on our doorsteps, and the lovely Gail and Helen are busily putting the final touches to this year’s extravaganza. We’re featuring guest posts on Roathcardiff.net from some of the artists, writers, film-makers, musicians, performers, and other contributors of all kinds in the run up to the Festival, which is being held this year from 14th-16th October.
This is the Festival’s third year, and has become a highlight of Cardiff’s artistic scene, showcasing the best of both new and established artists, and bringing the concepts of Open House and Open Exhibition to the area. Swn Festival will be curating a ‘mini-Swn’ during the weekend, at various venues in Roath, and there will be lots of outdoor fun to be had too – playARK brings games to Roath Park, and for the first time this year, a ‘Harris Hack’ will take place, so make sure you have your bike and plus fours at the ready!
The Festival works closely with local businesses, schools and community centres, and is totally committed to the local community – all the events are free and you are guaranteed to find plenty to keep you intruiged, entertained, involved and energised!
You can see everything that’s going on at Made in Roath 2011 – get ready for a packed weekend of everything arty under the sun!
